TPG Wins 2008 IIDA NY Lester Dundes Award
Cadence Named Winner in the Retail Category
IIDA New York
TPG’s project, Cadence Cycling & Multisport Center, was named the winner in the Retail category by the New York Chapter of the IIDA. During the 2008 Lester Dundes Awards Presentation, which took place June 26, 2008 at the Hayworth Showroom, Retail Managing Director Alec Zaballero gave a short presentation about the project.
TPG designed the 10,200 SF flagship store in TriBeCa, located directly off the West Side Highway bike path, to embody an urban country club aesthetic. Cadence wanted a high-end, high-tech retail destination that was both urban chic and inviting. Large club chairs and warm wood floors complement the cast iron columns and exposed brick walls. The overall design reflects the post-industrial, loft-like aesthetic that TriBeCa is famous for.
The store planning concept includes custom, light weight fixtures that can be rearranged, and that display the handmade bike frames like works of art. Decorative pendant lighting and floor lamps define areas and add to the residential feel of the space.
In 2007, TPG’s Moet Hennessy project was selected as winner of the IIDA NY Lester Dundes Interior Design Competition in the Commercial over 50,000 SF category.
