Found in prestigious locations worldwide, Amaffi makes its debut in New York City with its first perfume house on Billionaires' Row. Staying true to the brand’s philosophy, “We are Amaffi. We are here to set the bar high,” TPG collaborated with Amaffi to create a fac?ade and store design that establishes a strong and unique presence on 57th Street in Midtown.
Drawing inspiration from Art Deco, Monaco inspired designs, and Neoclassical styles, TPG and Amaffi created an exclusive and luxurious design for the boutique, adapted from previous store locations in London and Moscow. The main entrance is a majestic stone portal made of 7,000 lbs. of rare Dior Gold Quartzite from South America that encompasses a large slice of black glass bearing the Amaffi logo. Some of the storefront’s attention-worthy features are the gold metal-clad entry doors, the side display windows, and the warm glow of the accent lighting at the seams of the black quartzite. Once inside, the gold cove ceiling of the vestibule and the light boxes on each side create a transition element with a preview of the aesthetics applied to the interior design.
The resulting store is open, opulent, and classical, with the Amaffi brand proudly on display. The till is framed by Corinthian columns and features an obsidian and gold inlay meteorite polished stone. The store’s high ceilings, ranging up to 14 feet, give the illusion of a floating, celestial plane. Embedded in the ceiling are over approximately 2,500 individual lights—designed like a starry sky with shooting star effects in several locations. The ceiling also showcases custom-built Portuguese gold plated and Swarovski crystals chandeliers. Additionally, a regal VIP salon allows guests to experience the world of Amaffi in a more intimate setting.
